Every person battling cancer is dealing with the biggest fight of their lives and it's often extremely overwhelming. I found myself traveling the road of battling cancer too many times beginning with my husband and then my girlfriends and their husbands. I really know how helpless you feel when you just can't do much about this grueling journey they are on.
As an artist and designer of home goods and personal items, I started doing machine embroidery in 1996 and began adding embroidered items to my creations when I happily realized there was something I could do!
I began making chemo comfort gifts for friends and quickly saw on the recipient's faces how much it meant to them. I knew then I had to share these gifts with others so they could do something meaningful for the special people in their lives.
I've had so much wonderfully positive feedback and excellent response as to how much these special chemo comfort gifts mean to patients. . . that it truly warms my heart and soul.
It helps us so much when we are able to bring a little bright comfort into our loved one's days, especially when dealing with children who are ill with cancer and cancer therapy.
About Chemo Comfort Blankets
The custom embroidered chemo comfort blankets are made of first quality fleece with bound edges. The blankets are approximately 40 x 60 inches, machine washable and dryable. (Embroidered figures skin tones can be adjusted as needed.) You can select a design. (Colors are only off white or pink or lavender. All the same fabric, same size.) Makes a perfect gift for someone you care about who is starting, or in the process of Chemotherapy treatments. Wrap them in warmth and love with your gift. Custom Order: Breast Cancer Embroidered Shawl Lois, The shawl was beautiful!!!! It came in time yesterday for me to bring it to her. She was at a cancer orientation to prepare her for what's ahead now that her chemo is beginning. I left it on her front porch and sent a text to her grown daughter who was in town to be with her. Her daughter thought it was so very sweet. Then this morning right before she left for the hospital her daughter sent me a picture of her wearing the shawl and holding an angel I had given her previously to hold when she needed comfort. She captioned it, "She's ready!"
